The 11th annual Deepwater Operations Conference and Exhibition will continue the tradition of excellence in exploring the challenges involved in deepwater production. This conference connects operations staff, engineers and management personnel to innovative ideas, trends and technology in the industry.
The Deepwater Operations Conference allows the free and open exchange of ideas, as proceedings will not be published and press is not allowed to attend the sessions. Deepwater Operations Conference & Exhibition Seeing Strong Operator Support
Houston, Tex., May 3, 2012 – Deepwater Operations Conference & Exhibition will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Galveston, TX at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center November 6 – 8, 2012. A lot has changed in the last ten years. The first event in 2003 had just 23 exhibitors and four sponsors. The 2012 event will attract over 800 attendees and host over 60 exhibitors. Industry Professionals Receive Top Awards at Deepwater Operations Conference
Galveston, Tex., - Nov. 14, 2011 - Two offshore oil and gas industry professionals received top
awards for their technical presentations at the Deepwater Operations Conference &
Exhibition held at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center in Galveston recently.
The awards are given for the best presenter and best presentation among all of the speakers at the conference, held November 1 - 3, 2011.
The award for Best Presenter went to Mike Stark, Director, Offshore Pipelines, for Enterprise
Products Partners. His presentation, “Anaconda Pipeline Extension Project,” covered the newly
installed Anaconda Pipeline Extension, providing an overview of the solution and operations
undertaken over 2 ½ years to reestablish and extend the deepwater Anaconda Gas Export System
after hurricane Ike’s damage to shelf platform infrastructure.
The award for Best Presentation went to Tony Owen, of Helix Energy Solutions, for his presentation on “Emerging Technical Developments in Deepwater Operations.” The presentation
discussed the techniques executed in the four major elements of the Helix Producer 1 Project
Development -- subsea, DTS, dynamic positioning, and production systems. It outlined the
constructability and integration features of each and the operational aspects as they apply to a
marginal deepwater field development.
